In Search of Inquirer’s 100 KUWENTONG PEYUPS

In 2008, I received an email about the publishing of 100 shared stories by 100 lucky alumni of the University of the Philippines which can be read in the pages of the country’s most read newspaper, the Philippine Daily Inquirer. This is in line with U.P.’s First Centennial Celebration.
The news was inviting to me since I had many good stories to tell as a proud Iskolar ng Bayan then. Unfortunately, I did not submit even a single article for consideration of the Inquirer.
On this day, I started to gather and compile the 100 Kuwentong Peyups for my own satisfaction. And on my first day in search for these articles, I only found two from the 17 Inquirer Issues I browsed. The articles that I have now were:
1. ‘The Not-So-Quiet Years After The Storm’ by Arnold F. de Guzman (B.S. Education, 1978; M.A. Sociology, 1993; PhD candidate)
2. ‘Learning From the Pila And the Registration Process’ by Johann Veronica M. Andal (BA Political Science, 99-58654) – published on April 28, 2008
By the way, the first Kuwentong Peyups that I have read through the net was ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Kristine Nicole M. Espiritu, who described her Alma Mater (UP Los Baños) as like a sun which “gave… light … to see the world for what it really was - a big and scary place, corrupted by men but not impossible to change.”
Tomorrow I will continue my search for the other 98 kuwentos and I pray to complete the 100 Kuwentong Peyups.

Today, I found another two UP kuwentos from the pages of the Inquirer. These stories were:
3. UP Where I Belong (published on May 3, 2008 by PDI) by Jan Andrew Zubiri, BSc. in Human Ecology, 2000-02647.
4. Beyond the Limits of Calculus (published on May 5, 2008 by PDI) by Antonio C. Briza, College of Engineering, 1993-23732.
